GT Makes It Look Easy!
September 25, 2007
GT Grooming Trailers makes it look easy! We think it’s now 5 companies that have tried to clone the 5′ x 8′ GT Grooming trailer. It’s really not that difficult if one chooses NOT to cut corners. Some have gone out of business, some are still trying. Some of these clones are also the same ones who have illegally stolen content from our own websites or fraudulently broken the law by trying to trick search engines into thinking THEY were GT! (UPDATE: One wan-a-be, Gryphon Trailers, has removed their illegal web code hijacking GT traffic.)
First of all, it is interesting that for so long, the clones have explained how THEIR size of trailers were the “best” and that they have principled reasons for doing so. Now, their principles have “changed” and are helping GT popularize the entire GT concept of EFFICIENCY. Thank you! At the same time, GT has never turned on what we know to be right. FACT: GT was the first and is still the best at building efficient-scale grooming trailers. It would be easy for GT to simply build giant trailers, but we stand by our principles. Besides, we’re busy enough catering to the needs of the smartest groomers in the industry.
HINT: If you are a businessperson, this will all make sense. If you are a hobbyist, then you are on the wrong website.
Because other companies are bent on cutting corners, nobody else has developed a professional grade design. Some of these others have had little choice but to “lengthen” or “widen” their design–thereby defeating the entire concept. Even with going longer or wider, the GT is far superior in layout and design.
For example, notice how ALL the essential grooming tools are at the right of the table–the clones can’t do
that. Some of the clones have NOTHING to hold your tools.
Some clones install a window behind the table instead of a backsplash. Experienced mobile groomers know that windows become saturated with water in the winter and when the dogs lean against it, they become drenched. Grooming trailer converters, you would think, would know their business better than that. GT builds a stainless steel backsplash behind the table to keep your pet dry and will also keep you from getting “snowblinded” by a blank white wall.
Notice how there is an entire foot of space on the right side of the table so you can “corner” the table while grooming–the clones have virtually no space. Similarly, the left side of the table has a full foot of space while the clones may have up to an inch.
Notice how GT has integrated towel storage; clean and dirty. The clones don’t! The clones require you to either purchase your own laundry bins (taking up a huge portion on floor space) or to use the hardware store purchased wooden cabinets.
All of GT metalwork is fabricated from 16-guage stainless steel. If you think the photos on the clone websites appear “distorted” or “cloudy” it is because the extremely thin guage of the “catalog-purchased” tubs are in fact distorted or cloudy! Don’t be fooled into thinking that “stainless steel” is simply better than plastic because if it is fabricated the way that some of the clones do it, you will be forced to caulk it every single month to keep it watertight. GT tubs are fully welded, TWICE the thickness, and built in-house to ensure a perfect fit.
Cutting corners is quite a theme for some clones. The materials GT uses for our conversions are top quality and the equipment is designed for its purpose. For example, our generators are designed for trailers. We don’t use “portables” that manufacturers WON’T warranty if used for this application. GT uses RV air conditioners, not “window air conditioners” whose manufacturer won’t warranty if used for a mobile grooming application. They may have small water capacities, no realistic location for storing shampoo bottles, poor lighting, cheap trailer shells… The examples are endless.
GT won’t cut ANY corners. The main reason GT has a more savvy customer base than any other grooming trailer converter is because of our grounded philosophy. GT sells primarily to businesspeople–not hobbyists.
