Okay, I’ll just get to the first question that most people ask us. “How much money can you make at mobile grooming?” The question is completely wrong because what people are really asking is, “How much money can I make?”
The answer depends on your intentions. Are you a businessperson or are you a hobbyist? Surprisingly, hobbyists become mobile groomers and then proceed to think of themselves as business owners. If you treat mobile grooming as a hobby (which is fine), you will never make as much money as an entrepreneur treating this game as a business.
You can, if you decide to, make over $100,000 each year. And what I mean when I say, “make,” is that you can “profit” that kind of money. Do hobbyists make this kind of money? No. Do groomers who maximize revenue, minimize expenses, become students of taxes, and develop a sense of marketing? Absolutely!
The Internet “grooming forums” offer some pearls of wisdom on how to run a mobile business, but are also filled with personal stories of failure. I mean no disrespect for the forums or those who participate, we advertise on one (and often participate). However, the forums are not a place where steel sharpens steel, they are mostly a social gathering of people who, for the most part, treat mobile grooming like a hobby. As this category of posts progresses, you will understand precisely what I mean by this. Until then, I ask that you acknowledge the possibility that there might be some truth to our radical, often protested view of the industry.
In future posts, we will be using the term “hobbyist” quite a bit. The term is not offensive, only a description of a type of mobile groomer that most likely will not be a reader of the Business School posts. For the hobbyists out there, we will continue to write posts of a more general nature as we have been doing for the last year.
Can YOU make six figures at mobile grooming?
