Accessible Storage

February 17, 2006

A prevalent problem that mobile groomers have in their vans or trailers is the “lack of storage space.” I would refine the problem as to being a lack of “accessible storage.” Most conversion companies don’t really address the problem and the groomer is forced to pull out the dreaded bungee cords and start strapping in storage bins that belong more in a preschool than your van or trailer. A good conversion company will have addressed this issue by making sure there is some sort of cabinet, shelving, or other kind of cart that stores everything you would need near the grooming table. Make sure that nothing will fall out or get damaged from normal driving. Don’t tolerate anything that has wheels on it and make sure that, if it has doors, they shut and stay shut.

A more recent article about this is under the title, “Intelligent Design For Mobile Groomers.”
