Grey Water in mobile grooming salons.

January 13, 2006

One of the most prevalent issues to deal with as a mobile groomer has to do with the grey water (also accepted as “gray” water). Many mobile groomers get away with letting it drain right onto the street. This is ideal if the local authorities are okay with it because the groomer isn’t forced to drain it later. Some groomers act as if it is a horrible thing to do and trash groomers who drain into the street. Get over it! However, most mobile grooming salons (vans and trailers) will have grey capacity of at least half of the fresh water. Dumping the water on a lawn is actually okay, but the easiest way to deal with the grey water is to run the trailer or van to a car wash. Pull in, dump the grey water, pull out! It’s free, easy, and once you know where all the car washes in your area are; you’ll never need to worry about your grey water issue again!
